Solar absorbers - Solar panels

In cooperation with the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at Brno University of Technology and the Institute of Scientific Instruments of the CAS, we are participating in the development of solar thermal collectors for domestic hot water heating. These collectors (solar absorbers or solar panels) feature a completely new design and manufacturing technology. In commercial collectors, heat is dissipated by a tube register fixed to the back of the absorption plate, where heat losses inevitably occur through heat conduction from the absorption plate via linear contact into the tubes.

The type under development is characterized by a pillow-plate construction, where the heat-transfer fluid flows through a meander system across the entire surface of the absorption plate. Thanks to this design, heat losses during the transfer of absorbed heat to the liquid are significantly reduced. Furthermore, the hydraulic resistance and thus the pressure loss of the absorber are lower. The manufacturing process is already protected by a patent.
